Edible Book Festival
Complete and submit this form online to register your entry for the Booth Library 2019 Edible Book Festival. The registration deadline is Friday, April 5, 2019, by 5:00 p.m.
How to participate:
- Create a work made out of edible materials that’s inspired by a book (or other literary work) in content or shape.
Additional guidelines and information:
- Entries will be set up in the Marvin Foyer on Monday, April 8 between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. (If you are unable to deliver your entry during that hour, please contact ekcorrigan@eiu.edu to make alternate arrangements)
- Entries may be based on literary works of any form or genre EXCEPT novelizations (movies turned into books)
- Entries should be suitable for a general, all-ages audience
- Entries may be individual or collaborative (made by more than one person - families, friends, etc.)
- Participants may submit more than one entry, but will need to fill out a separate registration form for each
- Each entry will be allotted 3’ x 2’ of tabletop space. If an alternative size or type of space is needed for your entry, please indicate in the “Other Information” box of the registration form
- Two “best-in-show” prizes will be awarded, one determined by jury and the other by popular vote; honorable mentions will also be awarded; only one prize will be awarded per entry
- Entries will not be consumed - other refreshments will be provided during the reception
- Entries will be disposed of unless claimed by participants at the end of the reception
- Entries will be photographed for documentation purposes and posted to The Keep and may also be used by EIU Library Services for publicity purposes in print or online
NOTE: Please do not bring personal or library copies of the book to display next to your entry. An image of the book cover will appear on your entry’s table tent sign.
